El Modelo de Factor Dual de Salud Mental en adolescentes: relevancia de los factores intrapersonales y contextuales de protección y riesgo

Resumen

En esta investigación se aplicó el Modelo Bidimensional de Salud Mental a una muestra de 315 adolescentes. El modelo propone la conformación de cuatro grupos diferentes, a saber: Salud mental completa (bienestar alto vs. psicopatología baja); Vulnerable (bienestar bajo vs. psicopatología baja); Sintomático pero contento (bienestar alto vs. psicopatología alta) y Con problemas (bienestar bajo vs. psicopatología alta). Los grupos Con problemas y Sintomático obtuvieron las medias más elevadas en las variables de riesgo, tanto intrapersonales como contextuales, así como tendencia a la preocupación, inflexibilidad psicológica, perfeccionismo disfuncional y hostilidad percibida de ambos padres; por el contrario, el grupo de Salud mental completa alcanzó medias más elevadas en las variables de perfeccionismo funcional y cariño percibido de ambos padres. Por lo tanto, los grupos Vulnerable y Sintomático comparten factores de riesgo muy similares al grupo Con problemas, y podrían pasar desapercibidos en los servicios de salud mental. Los resultados se discuten atendiendo los estudios revisados, y se propone una investigación más acuciosa respecto a la salud integral de los adolescentes.
