Abstract

Antecedents. In simple terms, psychodrama is a therapeutic technique that consists of having patients act out in a group as if it were a play or situations related to their pathological conflicts to make them aware of and get over them. Objective. The present study aimed to describe the experiences and scope of a psychodrama intervention to treat symptoms of anxiety and depression in health personnel who care for patients with COVID-19 in a second-level hospital of attention in Apodaca (Mexico). Results. From a qualitative approach, the findings describe the therapists' experiences and the details experienced by those attending the psycho-dramatic sessions. Discussion. The current utility and benefits of psychodrama as an alternative to group psychotherapy are also discussed.
