Focus and Scope

Psychology and Health publishes specialized articles on helth psychology. It is published on a six-monthly basis in printed and electronical versions.

Peer Review Process

Each manuscript is sent to two renown, specialized reviewers through a double-blind process (neither authors nor reviewers know each other's identity). Reviewers are asked to complete and return their reviews with specific recommendations within a month. In case of recommendations disagreement manuscripts are sent to a third reviewer. As soon as agreement is reached reviews are sent to the authors through the office of reviewing coordination so as to request changes if necessary. Once a manuscript is accepted its publication process is completed and authors receive an electronic file with the final publication, which authors may distribute freely.

Anti-plagiarism Policy

Psychology and Health has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. Plagiarism is the act of presenting the words, ideas, or images of another as your own; it denies authors or creators of content the credit they are due. Whether deliberate or unintentional, plagiarism violates ethical standards in scholarship (APA Publication Manual, Section 8). The Journal abides by the policies put forward by the International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS), The Mexican Psychological Society (SMP) Code of Ethics and APA's guidelines.

Journal History

Psychology and Health is a Journal that lappeared in 1988, when two numbers were published: From 1990 to nowadays this journal has been published uninterrumptedly. In its conformation there are an editorial comitee and a associated editors staff from diverse Latin-American countries. Besides to be the official publication of the Institute of Psycological Research of the University of Veracruz, is also the organ of the Latin-American Association of Health Psycology.
